Market Research & Intelligence Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

Manages the below research activities that are strategically responsible for:

  • Supporting segments in the decision making process in providing the voice of the customer in terms of base understanding, product design, pricing and mechanism in products related to Marketing consumer segment (Hybrids. High Value and CVM)
  • Track & monitor Market dynamics view in terms of ET offers/new launches and providing full explanation and understanding for the figures movements through providing Monthly/Biweekly comparative view for ET offers vs. competition- Highlighting gaps and improvement areas with action plans to outperform competition.
  • Measuring and monitoring ET and competition BTL activities on a regular basis and reporting results coupled with solid recommendations to further improve ET market position in terms of both product design and CVM activities.
  • Proactively working on new initiatives to ensure the best levels of market understanding and connectivity between the marketing segments and the end customers, understanding their current needs as well as market trends to deliver on them.
  • Achieving the above through managing agency deliverables, timelines and quality of data/work while building relationships with the agencies to reach the best business model (being business partners).
  • Manages the Intelligence unit and growing their capabilities to support the internal stakeholders by providing high quality  and  up-to-date market knowledge for the competition activities and announcements via different data sources

 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Stakeholders’ support and Management:

Continuously supports Marketing consumer segments with decision making with sound recommendations based on customer feedback qualitatively and quantitatively:

  • Pre-launching testing and giving recommendations on major launches, and measure their performance on various KPIs and recommend needed enhancements as well as recommending the relevant potential target.
  • Post evaluation and tracking platforms evaluation of Tariffs/products across KPIs, satisfaction, usage and awareness of platform specifications.
  • Providing business owners with clear description and profiling of tariff/platform users
  • Understand usage behavior of platform base (users, stoppers, temp users or unaware users) and their drivers and barriers to use/stop using the tariff.
  • Monitoring & evaluating ET offers and launches as well as the competition through providing full explanation and understanding for the figures movements.
  • Provides market and competitive insights through an up-to-date knowledge and users’ experience for the competition activities and announcements to the Executive Leadership Team and various internal management teams to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation.

 

Top Management Alignment:

  • Set a yearly plan synced with the marketing calendar to properly cover concept tests and post assessments across Qs 1 through 4 for (Hybrids, High value and CVM segments).
  • Work on segment reviews with management up to the CEO on quarterly basis to evaluate in details the impact of market moves & dynamics.
  • Updating the CEO on bi-weekly basis with an up- to- date market knowledge in terms of new launches and offers evaluation
  • Prepare analysis for management covering portfolio enhancements recommendations on weekly basis.
  • Delivering full understanding of the new launches potential, recommending Go/No Go scenarios based on voice of the customer in the different gates (spotlight & Go to Market).
  • Updating the organization on new market trends and providing recommendations accordingly with key focus areas to the segments.

 

Collaborative understanding of Market Dynamics:

  • Providing the organization with a clear understanding of the competition offers & new launches on monthly bases incorporating internal data and actuals to reach an accurate image of current market dynamics.
  • Monitoring the BTL activities for ET & competition on weekly basis and Creating updated and comprehensive reports on monthly basis and proactively makes recommendations to management concerning key intelligence items that require further consideration

 

Leadership & Management:

  • Setting clear performance objectives with the team (Research team members & Market Intelligence Unit) and monitoring their performance vs. the agreed upon standards. Provide the necessary feedback when needed and identify and work on areas of improvement.
  • Managing and coaching subordinates while supporting their day-to-day activities and tasks and working on improvement areas. Providing continuous feedback and clear objective settings.
  • Handling Agency requirements and deliverables ensuring data quality and meeting study objectives in answering the needed business questions
  • Managing 2 agencies, including reviewing their performance, quality of their fieldwork and client servicing, as well as negotiating proposals including methodologies used and cost efficiencies possible


Qualifications Essential

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Economics
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Previous experience in similar position in multinational company
  • Excellent management skill and ability to communicate persuasively and effectively in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team where organization prioritization and sound judgment skill are essential
  • Excellent computer skills, and advanced MS excel is required
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Excellent in Arabic & English
  • Fair knowledge of SPSS and other analysis software
  • Advanced presentation & negotiations skill
  • Excellent ability to distill key consumer insights and translate them into inspiring strategies

Qualifications Desirablel

  • MBA
  • Telecom background is a plus
  • Understanding sales, marketing & communication dynamics.
